First Flower 06:18
Flow down the stream, in from my dreams Flow down the riverbed, you will be guided home Flow down the stream, all is not what it seems Flow down the riverbed, i’m waiting to guide you home Softly, oh softly there is a fierceness in you But softly, oh softly I feel your petals pushing through And if you were a flower in my garden then I must pluck you and replenish you, so your seeds must grow If you were a flower in my garden, oh come hither to me so you will know Come hither to me, then you’ll know I have picked you as one of my finest Petals five with a trinity of three betwixt you and me Theres a knot binding us you see Come, come, come, come unto me And I… One by one I pluck your petals and I let them flow down the red, the red crimson river
Letting each go, a story that will carry on spiralling through time And each will become a feather for the bird to take flight and soar so high like the eagle in the night And each petal will grow roots to become new trees in the forest of your heart I see a grove before me now, before me now, before me now Before me you’re lying now, before me, from thy somehow

about

Live Improvised Session recorded at my home in Glasgow on 28/11/21
This session was set up without planning or preparation and the post production sequence that followed was minimal the intention to limit the amount of editing and processing in order to reflect the live and raw quality of the music that was created that day. The tracks are rough and real, and capture a moment in time.

These tracks are an ode to the Feminine Creative Force and a gift to honour the Goddess

The inspiration for these songs followed a few hours after undertaking the termination of my first pregnancy. It was important for me to honour this journey and the impact of this significant event through a creative release. These tracks encompass the full spectrum of emotion and transformation brought forward by this experience. Although it was not possible to bring this life fourth to full term in the physical realm; I birthed this music to pay my respects to this energy with the appreciation that endings can pave the way for new beginnings. Energy moves through us in cycles of life, death and rebirth. I now understand this more deeply and feel humbled by the insights I have gained.

Women are powerful creative beings and new life is a beautiful gift when it can be supported and nurtured with utmost care. Reproductive Rights are an essential issue of bodily autonomy for women, and something that should be chosen by women, for women. At this point in history Reproductive Rights are being dictated by external forces which negate the importance of having access to this option as an essential choice. Many of our sisters worldwide are facing extreme prejudice and suppression in this realm by having their right to access safe medical termination taken away from them. Although it may sound strange, I can honestly say that my ability to be able to have a safe termination was nothing short of a privilege with the knowledge that many women are forced to seek desperate and unsafe methods without any practical frameworks of support available to them.
It is an absolute fundamental that women should be able to make these important personal choices with dignity and in safety.
I dedicate these songs to my daughter Sarah, to my Global Sisters and to the All-mother who watches over us.
